Certainly, that seems to be her MO where acts of charity are concerned: you give out (money), you get back (the positive associations). I'm glad someone finally wrote about this. I had always had an uneasy feeling about Oprah having known nothing about her apart from how publically generous she was. but I always felt there was an ego side to her that was doing it for other reasons.
It wasn't until a year or so back that I started looking into it and realised my gut feeling was right. and that most of what she does was self promotion so that she can make more money.
It always frustrated me to see people idolise her not knowing the full story.
